Yesterday Allen stood in front of the stove for at least 10 seconds all by himself...not holding onto anything. I don't know if that means he's really close to figuring out the whole "walking" thing, or what. He walks all over the place with his walker that Laura sent home for him to borrow. We have one that Katy used and it converts into a scooter, but Katy still rides it. What's really funny is that I will sometimes hold Allen's left hand and let him walk around with me helping, and now Katy grabs his right hand to "help" her brudda. She walks too fast and he has to lean at a 45 degree angle to the ground and move those little tree trunk legs as fast as he can to keep up. He is laughing so we start laughing - it's hilarious to see!

Here are some funny Katy-isms of late:
**The arm came off a cheap GI Joe doll that someone gave me as a joke. Katy carries it around and waves bye bye with it, and even blows kissed using it as if it's her own hand!
**Lately Katy makes us pretend we're asleep. She climbs onto our lap and says, "cwoz your eyes...shhhh...sweep" and forces our eyelids down in a not-so-gentle motion. Last night she was doing this and then to wake me up she starting crowing "bok bok chicken, bok bok chicken" in her singing voice. I sat up and asked her if she meant to say "cock-a-doodle-do" like the rooster crows, and she changed her tune to that to wake me up.
**One time a few weeks ago we picked up Katy and Allen from Warren & Marjean's home before they were headed to a basketball game. Katy wanted to go to the game with them, and they told her she didn't have a ticket. Now she always asks to go to games of all kinds, but looks sad and shakes her head while she says, "Want to go to ______ game but can't have tickets!" Sarah said that some of my neighbors were playing football in their yard and Katy said the same thing about that game, too!
**Mookie taught Katy how to tell secrets by whispering in her ear that she loves her. So now Katy has the general idea but is just a bit off the mark. She announces that she has a secret, but then she puts her ear to your ear and just makes pretend whispering sounds.

That's all I can think of right now. I know there are lots more funnies that the nuggets are doing all the time.

aww don't you just love the "big" moments in motherhood.

we go through months of lugging around a sack of potatoes waiting, anticipating the moment we are released from such work, and then it comes.....WALKING....and it takes your breath away...

you are AMAZED that this person, little, little person is walking, like a regular person....and then it happens...

you wish you could go back to the pre walking days.

trust me meg, it will happen.

a bittersweet moment of motherhood.

love your blog

Oh yeah, and BTW - I absolutely love all the Easter photos - especially the ones with the bluebonnets. When your kids get older and you have a little more time to yourself you should get into photography and get your own little studio or something.Cause, girl! You have a great talent!
